Climate:
Pune is famous for its cool summers and mildly cold winters. Heavy industrialization and urbanization has drastically changed this. Of late the summer temperature can go as high as 45° C. The summer months are from March to May. The winter months of late October, November, December and February are not so pleasant of late. Last year Pune experienced the all time low temprature in winter at a chilling 2° C. The weather patterns have changed in Pune and so has the way to adapt to such harsh extremes of nature.

Industrial Climate:
Pune is the home to Tata Motors, the largest Automobile manufacturer in India alongwith Bajaj Auto which happens to be one of the largest two wheeler manufacturers of the world.

Also located at Pune is the Diamler Chrysler plant which homes the assembly line for Mercedes Benz. Kinetic Motors and Force Motors are some of the other Automobile Majors having their plants at Pune.

In the Electronic Appliance sectors Multinationals like LG and Whirlpool have their plants at Pune FMCG giants like Coca Cola and Frito Lays are also located at Pune

With an array of small and medium scale industries of all types along with Multinationals and Industrial Giants like Bajaj, Tata, etc Pune can be termed as Detroit of India

An International Convention Center coming up fast on the map of Pune, is the latest attraction for the Economical Sector

Pune boasts of having the highest per capita income of India and is the sixth largest Economy of India.

Software Happening:

Pune can be easily termed as the Silicon Valley of India. With most of India's Software majors like, Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Mahindra British Telecom and Persistant Systems having their base in Pune, global majors such as IBM, Cognizant, Sasken, Amdocs, Avaya, also have their second home in Pune

Recently Pune has seen a boom in the BPO sector and is inching towards the KPO sector.

All this development in the IT area has generated a lot of education and employment opportunities not only for the city dwellers, but for the others as well. Thus resulting in Economic growth of Pune. The real estate market is also favouring from this and hence the population of Pune is growing at an astonishing rate.

Cultural Background:

A vibrant city, a potpourri where the past meets the present, Pune is known as the cultural capital of Maharashtra. Pune has a rich cultural past and an equally vivacious present and future. From the ancient rock cut Pataleshwar temple to the fast coming up International Convention Center and the Software Parks of Pune, say it all.

One can well experience the cultural diversity of Pune by visiting the Old city i.e Kasba Peth, and the upmarket Koregaon Park and Camp area of Pune. The homes in Kasba peth are an example of the ancient Vada architecture in contrast to the ultra modern residences in the Camp and Koregaon Park area. From Shopping Malls to Marketyard, Multiplexes to Museums, Software Parks to Forts, and a variety of Temples, Mosques, Church's, Pune has it all.

Pune, by all means can be termed as a cosmopolitan city, since it has a mix of all Indian relegions happily living together. Besides this the construction of the Mumbai-Pune Expressway has left Mumbai just 2 hrs away from Pune thus increasing the influence of the Mumbai Culture on Pune.

The Festivities of Ganesh Chaturthi, Diwali, Dussera to Ramzan, Id, Easter, Christmas and New Year are all celebrated toghether with equal Pomp and galore, with citizens of all ages participating with equal enthusiasm. Pune truly represents the Rich and Diverse culture of India and is a living example of the thought 'Unity in Diversity'.
